about

I made an album about the early life of my great grandmother Kate ‘Keile’ Gartman. She fled Russia for New York City in 1906 and as a teenager survived the Triangle Shirtwaist Factory fire. Her testimony was integral at the ensuing trial.

A couple release shows:
Tuesday August 24 Icehouse, Minneapolis. Supporting Derecho, 6pm.
Saturday September 24 Duluth Cider, Duluth. Supporting Sadkin, 6pm.

Thank you ARAC for the continued support!
Thank you Steve Garrington and Brian Joseph for the production!
Thank you Laura LaBounty for the art design and cousin Conrad Kisch for the family history lesson.

This music was made possible in part by the voters of Minnesota through a grant from the Arrowhead Regional Arts Council, thanks to appropriations from the McKnight Foundation and the Minnesota State Legislature's general and arts and cultural heritage funds.
